A “Women in Energy” lunch was held Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in Reno, Nevada in conjunction with the Fall 2017 Joint CREPC-WIRAB Meeting. The lunch meeting took place at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel (Sage Room) from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker was Carolyn Barbash, Vice President, Energy Market Policy, NV Energy. Ms. Barbash shared her extensive experience in the energy sector in a discussion format including her career path and approaching industry challenges from a woman’s perspective.
The organizers of the Women in Energy Lunch were Christine Lazaruk, Executive Director, Strategy and Integration, Alberta Energy; Frances Koncilja, Commissioner at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission; Amy Sopinka, Electricity Policy Analyst at the British Columbia Ministry of Energy and Mines; and Grace Anderson, California Energy Commission.
