In October 2011, the State-Provincial Steering Committee (SPSC) adopted a statement supporting additional evaluation of an Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) and agreeing to work together, across states, in the effort. In November 2011, SPSC Chairman John Savage approved funding for the EIM efforts. Soon after, the PUC EIM Group was formed, with representatives from 12 Western state commissions. To date, the PUC EIM Group has held two large stakeholder meetings – one in Tempe, AZ (September 12-13, 2012) and another in Boise, ID (April 8-9, 2013) – in order to continue moving the West-wide EIM discussion forward.
For more information on the EIM and the history of the PUC EIM Group, see the “About Us” tab.
