The Western Interconnection Regional Advisory Body (WIRAB) hosted a webinar to inform members and interested stakeholders of the importance of the next day study process used by utilities to ensure reliability. Representatives from Peak Reliability and the California ISO walked through the process at a high level and discussed the input data, study output and results, and described the challenges with data quality and system variability. As part of the next day study process, it was discussed how important it is for utility engineers to reconcile the output of the studies with their neighboring utilities as well as with the Reliability Coordinator. Peak and the CAISO described best practices in the study, the reconciliation process and ways to improve the next day study process throughout the West. There was Q&A from the audience.
