Webinar on Flexible Resource Adequacy

With the continued addition of wind and solar generating resources to the power system, operators need system flexibility to quickly respond to unexpected changes in the leve of variable generation. Enhanced system flexibility can be acquired through better business practices, the addition of flexible supply-side generating capacity, or the acquisition of flexible demand-side resources. Maury Galbraith, administrator of the Energy Division at the Oregon Public Utility Commission, presents the Oregon Commission’s new integrated resources planning requirement for its regulated utility to estimate their demand for and supply of flexible capacity reserves.
